Amie Decker Makeup Artist

Amie Decker is a professional makeup artist who loves bringing out an individual's beauty through makeup.  Beauty is her business and Makeup is her tool.  Amie has always had an eye for art and design, and a love for people.  This led her to study advertising and public relations during college while working part time doing makeup at a cosmetic counter.  After college she had the privilege of doing makeup for many close friends on their wedding day which led her to find her niche.  In January of 2005, Amie attended Chesapeake School of Aesthetics in Annapolis, MD and received her certification as a licensed makeup artist.

Since that time, Amie’s specialty in Bridal makeup has made her well known in the Maryland area.  She was awarded the "Bride's Choice Award" from WeddingWire.com in 2009 and 2010 and she has been chosen by COVERGIRL to be an expert professional makeup artist for special events.  Amie is repeatedly featured on TheKnot.com, was published in Maryland Brides Magazine and her work has also been featured on Fox 45 Morning News. In addition to working with over 100 Brides a year, she provides makeup for numerous photo shoots and gives private lessons. Her goal for every client is that they look like themself, photograph well, and of course look the most gorgeous they ever have in their life.

"One of my favorite things to find out about brides when we meet for a trial is how they met their fiance. Basically, I am a sucker for romance and I get to hear so many sweet stories. My story is pretty simple. When I was in Kindergarten there was an "older" boy, in first grade, who was the cutest thing I had ever seen. My little 5 year old self had no choice but to fall in love with him and he is now my husband. I know this is hard to believe but it really did happen. Of coarse we did not get married until much later.

So maybe one day I will write a book about all of the beautiful stories I hear about people meeting through school, sports, vacation, websites, friends, work, bars, church and even speed dating. I'd love to hear your story."

Kelley Small Hair Stylist

Kelley has been making people look and feel beautiful her entire life.  After high school she went to college and studied theatre and psychology, both of which help immensely in this business.  When her first marriage ended, she was a single parent with a one and three year old pondering what to do with her life.  She looked into the Paul Mitchell Academy and it has been wedded bliss ever since.  While in school, she had the distinct privilege of being able to assist some of the biggest and most influential names in the business.  What an amazing learning experience!

Kelley has had some amazing opportunities come her way over the past six years.  She has worked on countless photo shoots for magazines and print adds,  in addition to working with a wonderful model who has been seen in Glamour and Cosmopolitan.  She had the distinct pleasure of doing one of the executives of the "knot" for her television debut in Baltimore.  Five years later she was featured in the July 2007 edition with a wonderful florist from the blooming basket in Millersville, MD.  Most recently, her work was featured in Maryland Brides Spring 2010 and again in the Fall 2010 issue.  One of her most exciting accomplishments was being able to work on several of the star's hair for the movie "Step Up."  In addition to the director, producer, and several other people who made the movie a great success.  And yes ladies, she had the amazing fortune of meeting Channing Tatum!

"I am used to being under a lot of pressure for excellence and precision, so I think that is why I fell into the wedding industry so easily.  I absolutely adore working with brides and their family and friends on such a momentous occasion.  I am very calm under pressure and have an innate sense to keep you peaceful and relaxed , as well.  I feel so blessed to be a part of this industry and want to continue to nurture and grow this wonderful partnership that Amie and I have created!"

Carrie Horrigan Makeup Artist

When I was a little girl I got my first makeup case, a kaboodle.  Ever since then I have loved beauty products and making up my friends and family.  I finally followed my dreams in the spring of 2007 and attended Von Lee International School Of Aesthetics where I received my makeup artist license and an adult sized, professional version of a kaboodle  :)  I didn't know exactly where I was going to go from there.  Then I heard through a friend that the talented Amie Decker was looking for an apprentice.  Everything fell into place after that.  I love my job as a freelance makeup artist and love making people look and feel their best.  I look forward to the opportunity to do that for you.
